Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. IN a remarkable display of leadership and dedication, Zimbabwe Open University student has been making waves at the institution.

Her journey, which began with her crowning as Miss Zimbabwe Open University 2024-2025, has taken an inspiring turn.

Last year, Madombwe’s reign as beauty queen marked the beginning of her leadership journey.

However, it was not long before she took on a new role that would showcase her true potential.

In April 2024, she was elected president of the Student Representative Council (SRC) Harare region, a testament to her peers’ trust in her leadership abilities.

“I’m passionate about serving my fellow students and working to create a positive impact on our university community,” Madombwe said about her role as SRC President.

But she was not content and did not sit on her laurels.

She continued to serve her region with passion and dedication, using her platform to make a positive impact.

One notable initiative was her philanthropy work, where she donated to both the male and female sections of Chikurubi Prison.

This selfless act demonstrated her commitment to giving back to the community.

As a regional leader, Madombwe worked tirelessly with her team to implement initiatives that benefited her constituents.

Her humility, compassion and willingness to listen to others earned her the respect and admiration of her peers.

Adding to her impressive list of achievements, last month, Madombwe was also one of the top 20 finalists for Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2025, further showcasing her beauty, intelligence, and charisma on a national stage.

The latest chapter in her journey is perhaps the most significant.

She was recently inaugurated as the national SRC president, representing all 10 regions of Zimbabwe Open University, including the Virtual Campus at the Zimbabwe Institute of Public Administration (ZIPAM) from April 10-13, 2025.

This new role comes with immense responsibility.

“As I embark on this new journey, I’m excited to work with students from all corners of the country, building on my past experiences to create initiatives that will positively impact students across Zimbabwe Open University,” Madombwe said.

Aside from her academic and leadership pursuits, she is also a successful hair model, having worked with notable brands such as Bella Hair and Hair Nova South Africa.

Her modelling career showcases her versatility and passion for the beauty industry.

Joyline’s story is a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and humility.

From beauty queen to student leader, she has shown that true leadership is not about titles, but about serving others.

As she takes on her new role, we wish her all the best in her endeavours to make a difference in the lives of students.
