Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Worshippers from all corners of Zimbabwe are set to converge in Mhondoro for a three day gospel extravaganza running from today Friday August 21 to 24.
The family-oriented gospel funfair, hosted by the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa (UPCSA) Presbytery of Zimbabwe, will take place at the denomination’s boarding facilities in Mhondoro.
Running under the theme A United Diversified Church, the extravaganza will include different genres of praise and worshippers, preaching and teaching sessions and a vast of family grounded activities suited for all age groups.
Co-ordinator of the family fete, Reverend Elias Simango, says his team has prepared an exciting edutainment programme that will contribute to enhancing the national social fabric.
“We believe that packaging the word of God in innovative forms presents opportunities to reach wider audiences to the Jesus Christ-centred messages of repentance, hope and unity,” Simango told NewsDay Live on Thursday.
“By creating a family-centred event, we are fully cognisant that the gospel crosscuts generations and that the family is the first social structure that should be preserved.”
He said the event has attracted interests within the region, with close to 100 participants from Zambia having confirmed to take part in the gospel festivities.
“The word of God transcends borders and through cross cultural exchanges we are expecting enriched discourses,” Simango said.
He added that all necessary logistics had been put in place to ensure the safety and security of attendees and the programme had been finalised to ensure a fun filled and educative three days.
