September 15 not a public holiday: Govt

Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. THE government has said Monday, September 15, will not be observed as a public holiday, despite widespread speculation surrounding Munhumutapa Day.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services secretary Ndavaningi Mangwana cleared the air in a statement.

“For those who are inquiring, please note that Monday 15 September is NOT a holiday. See you at work,” he said.

The announcement serves as a timely reminder for citizens to plan their schedules accordingly and to disregard unofficial reports suggesting otherwise.

While Munhumutapa Day, that has recently garnered attention as a significant cultural commemoration, has not been gazetted as an official public holiday by the government.

Authorities continue to urge the public to verify such information through official channels to avoid unnecessary disruptions to work and school routines.
