Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. The Mine Ventilation Society of Zimbabwe (MVSZ) opened its annual symposium today, highlighting the critical need to update the nation’s mining ventilation regulations.
The current legislation is outdated and lacks clarity, leading to significant enforcement challenges. This puts miners at risk from airborne hazards that modern standards could mitigate.
MVSZ President Tonderai Chikande stated, “Ventilation legislation is the backbone of mine safety. This AGM is a call to action to align our laws with contemporary mining risks. Our goal is to establish a productive industry guided by robust safety principles.”
