Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. A Masvingo man is on the run after allegedly killing another patron who reportedly refused to share his beer with him.
Maxwell Marumbwa of Manyise Village, under Chief Nyajena, is accused of killing Sentie Hando of Mukarudzo Village, also under Chief Nyajena, during an incident at Zengeza Business Centre last Saturday.
Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa, confirmed the case to Masvingo Mirror, adding that police have launched a manhunt for Marumbwa and are appealing to the public for information that may help locate him.
According to police, Marumbwa and Hando had been drinking at the business centre at around 2 PM when the dispute arose.
Marumbwa allegedly brought an empty two-litre bottle and demanded that Hando fill it with beer.
Hando stepped outside to make a phone call, and the argument resumed when he returned.
To avoid a confrontation, he went back outside, but Marumbwa reportedly followed him, and the altercation continued.
Hando then ran off, with Marumbwa giving chase. Marumbwa is said to have returned later and told other patrons he had failed to catch him.
Hando was not seen again until the following day, when his body was discovered in an open area near the bar. Police noted he had visible injuries.
The body had visible bruises on the left cheek and a cut on the right shoulder.
