Guruve suspected serial killer Anymore Zvitsva has been remanded in custody until 3 February 2026 on two new murder charges and three new attempted murder charges. He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

Zvitsva (33) first appeared in court on 5 January, facing eight counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and two counts of rape.

He appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 January 2026, for the new murder and attempted murder charges, wearing leg irons and assisted into the court complex by a fellow inmate.

Zvitsva is recovering from a leg wound he sustained when security forces shot him while he attempted to evade arrest on 3 January.

The two new murder charges follow the discovery of two bodies buried in shallow graves, which Zvitsva led investigators to after his arrest.
