Waterlogged Ascot Pitch Forces TelOne–Dynamos Match Postponement

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has postponed the match between TelOne FC and Dynamos FC, which had been scheduled for Saturday, 07 March at Ascot Stadium, after the pitch became waterlogged.

Gweru has been experiencing heavy rainfall in recent days and, due to poor drainage, large sections of the Ascot Stadium surface were left covered in water, making the pitch virtually unplayable.

In a statement, PSL Communications and Media Liaison Officer Kudzai Bare said the match has now been moved to Sunday, 8 March 2026, and will still be played at the same venue. The statement reads:

“The Premier Soccer League wishes to advise all stakeholders that the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match between Telone FC and Dynamos FC, which was scheduled to take place today at Ascot Stadium, has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch following persistent rainfall.

“In the interest of player safety and to preserve the quality of the playing surface, a decision has been made in accordance with the PSL Rules and Regulations to defer the fixture due to force majeure.

“The match has now been rescheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, 8 March 2026, at 1000 hours at Ascot Stadium.

“The Premier Soccer League regrets any inconvenience caused and appreciates the support of all our stakeholders.”
