PSL Summons Hardrock CEO, Dynamos, And Hardrock FC To Disciplinary Hearing Over Abandoned Match

Hardrock, Dynamos, and Hardrock chief executive Kudzanai Hove have been summoned to appear before the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee following crowd trouble that forced the abandonment of their Castle Lager PSL clash last Sunday.

The match, played at Chahwanda Stadium on 24 May, was called off after incidents of violence, pitch invasion and property damage. Both clubs now face a raft of charges.

In a statement issued today, 29 May, PSL communications and media liaison officer Kudzai Bare confirmed that Hardrock and Dynamos have been charged with breaching league rules and regulations.

The two clubs stand accused of causing the abandonment of the match, disturbing normal proceedings, pitch invasion, acts of violence and malicious damage to property.

As the home side, Hardrock faces an additional charge of failing to provide adequate security for the fixture.

In an unusual move, Hardrock CEO Kudzanai Hove has also been charged as an individual. He faces counts of disorderly conduct, pitch invasion and violent behaviour.

The disciplinary hearing is set for 9 June 2026 at 5.30 pm at the PSL offices in Harare.

The league has been under pressure to curb violence at matches after a string of disturbances this season.

Sunday’s abandoned fixture at Chahwanda marks one of the most serious incidents to date, with both sets of supporters implicated.

If found guilty, the clubs could face fines, points deductions or orders to play matches behind closed doors. Sanctions against Hove could include suspension from football activities.
