THE government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that Zimbabwe derives maximum benefits from the Dubai Expo 2020 as it presents opportunities and experiences that will help in attain Vision 2030.
Zimbabwe will this year join other 191 countries in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the Dubai Expo 2020 which gets underway in October.
Twenty-five million visitors are expected at the 173-day premier showcase with over one million participants have registered so far.
The expo is an ideal platform for Zimbabwe’s private sector to create synergies with the rest of the world and adopt new global technological standards to accelerate the attainment of the country’s vision 2030 of an upper-middle-income economy.
There will be five Central Pavilions from China, Africa and the Pacific region built on 438 hectares with an average of sixty daily shows and other exhibitions.
Uber is expected to demonstrate the use of flying taxis in Dubai from July while the world’s largest solar power plant has been built to provide power.
The Office of President and Cabinet is organising Zimbabwe’s participation and several workshops have so far been conducted with the private sector to warm up for the expo.
Dubai was in 2013 nominated by the Bureau of International Expositions to host this year’s event with the Japanese capital, Osaka, being the next stop in 2025.
