The SRC last week released a statement that stated that they were engaged in extensive consultations and engagements to find a sustainable solution for the resumption of football during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic:
The SRC advises that the resumption of all sport and football in particular is a matter that is still under consideration. Extensive engagements and consultations are underway for a sustainable solution to the matter. The public will soon be advised of the outcome.
Local football was last played in Zimbabwe in December 2019 and could not resume last year because the proposed 2-week tourney could not find willing sponsors.
