Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Bulawayo City Council (BCC) has disowned an advert circulating on social media that purported that the local government authority was looking for general hands. In a notice, seen by Pindula News, BCC advised members of the public to be watchful as fraudsters might be using the council’s name to con people. Reads the notice:
The City of Bulawayo would like to advise its valued residents that the message that is circulating on WhatsApp and other social media platforms on the Bulawayo City Council recruiting General Hands is NOT TRUE.
Members of the public are advised that the message is fraudulent and should be ignored.
The City of Bulawayo has established official channels with regard to staff recruitment which are currently in use either through the print media, official social media pages and the official City website.
Please kindly disregard the message.
