Foreign Minister Shava To Travel To South Africa Next Week

Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Frederick Musiiwa Shava will be in South Africa next week for the Mid-Term Review (MTR) of the Third Session of the Bi-National Commission (BNC).

A statement issued by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Livit Mugejo, this Friday reads:

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Hon. F.M. Shava will lead the Zimbabwean delegation scheduled to travel to Pretoria, South Africa, on 9 August 2022 to attend the Mid-Term Review (MTR) of the Third Session of the Bi-National Commission (BNC) which will be held on 10 August 2022.

The purpose of the MTR is to review progress made in implementing bilateral programmes between the two countries under the BNC framework.

The MTR will also act as a preparatory meeting for the Fourth Session of the BNC which is expected to be held later this year.

The meeting will afford the Ministers the opportunity to discuss pertinent bilateral issues between Zimbabwe and South Africa, including migration, trade relations and the proposed dates for convening the BNC, among other things.
