Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Internationally renowned DJ Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, was recovering from surgery after sustaining “severe blows” to his body during a “severe travel accident” on his private plane, Daily Mail reported.

Per the publication, the DJ was hospitalised in a Uruguayan hospital following the incident, which happened on Sunday while travelling from Brazil to Argentina.

The plane had to make an emergency landing at Montevideo Airport due to severe air turbulence.

Billboard reported he was travelling to Argentina to play at a show at nightclub Mute.

News broke on Wednesday evening when his team shared a statement on social media, saying, “The incident resulted in unforeseen complications and left him with some injuries”.

“We can confirm that he is receiving the best possible medical attention and is surrounded by a supportive family and team.”

The team said he was optimistic and recovering well, adding that he looked forward to returning to his supporters “very soon”.
