Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. Hundreds of elephants will be culled in Zimbabwe and Namibia amid severe drought in the southern African countries. Zimbabwe plans to allow communities in need to kill up to 200 elephants for meat, while Namibia has already begun its own cull of 700 animals including hippos, buffalo and zebras. Executive Director at the Centre for Natural Resource Governance Farai Maguwu tells The World’s Yvonne Yong that from a conservation perspective the decision is unjustified.
