Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. CAPS United have dismissed head coach Ian Bakala and his entire technical team.
Bakala’s final match in charge of Makepekepe was a 2-0 victory over relegated Kwekwe United at Ascot Stadium in Gweru, concluding their 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign.
Having taken over mid-season, Bakala narrowly guided Makepekepe away from relegation, with the club finishing 9th on 43 points.
In a statement released on Monday, 24 November, CAPS United confirmed the departure of Bakala and his technical team. The statement reads:
“Caps United Football Club would like to announce that, following the successful achievement of our technical team’s top priority – saving the club from relegation in the second half of the season – The current technical setup headed by our son, Mr Ian Bakala, has been dissolved, after successfully serving and completing its purpose.
“The Management would like to express its deepest gratitude to Ian Bakala and the entire technical team for their tireless efforts, dedication, and commitment to the club during their tenure.
“We appreciate the significant progress made and the sacrifices rendered in a short period.
“Further details regarding the way forward and new appointments will be communicated in due course.
“Thank you, Ian Bakala and The Current Technical Team, for your dedicated service to Caps United FC.”
