Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. HARARE Volleyball Premier League season is winding down.
With the league hitting its peak, teams and supporters alike are now eyeing the much coveted championship trophy.
The championship brackets have been drawn and the games for both men and women are slotted for this weekend.
The quarter and quarterfinals being played today, while the third and fourth place showdown as well as the semi-finals will be played tomorrow afternoon at the University of Zimbabwe courts.
Intense competition is expected in Men’s Division.
The Black Rhinos, UZ Wolves and Black Mambas, who through the season have displayed excellence skills on the court, are going to be battling to book a ticket at the finals to be held on November 8 at Sunrise Sports Club.
UZ Wolves, in particular, are going to try and retain the class they played with earlier this year when they clinched the MNL Zim Open Championships.
Not to be outdone is the Women’s Division, which will see Raven Claw, Harare City, Black Rhinos and UZ Wolves clash for a potential to earn silverware for their respective clubs.
The Championship brackets are as follows:
For the Mens Division, Drawn in Pool A are 1 UZ Wolves, 2 Ruwa/NABA and 3 NABA/Black Mambas.
Pool B has 1 Black Rhinos, 2 Ruwa/Black mambas and 3 Old Hararians/BUSE.
For the Womens Division, in Pool A, there is 1 Black Mambas, 2 Black Rhinos and 3 UZ Wolves, while Pool B includes 1 Harare City, 2 Raven Claw and 3 Chapungu.
The consolation bracket for the gents will include Old Hararians/BUSE, Chapungu and Correctional Spikers.

Tomorrow: Men’s Division: Old Hararians vs NABA; UZ Wolves vs Black Mambas; Black Rhinos vs Ruwa; Loser semi final 1 vs Loser semi-final 2.
