Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>ZANU PF provincial chairperson for Midlands Edson Chihengere has said that former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa is preparing to launch a new party, adding that the ruling party was ready to destroy it again.<\/p>\n

Addressing Zanu PF supporters at Charandura business centre in Chirumanzu where 50 alleged CCC supporters said to have defected to the ruling party were paraded recently, Chiherenge said the CCC had disintegrated.<\/p>\n

He said the ruling party would ensure the destruction of Chamisa\u2019s new party.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis party (CCC) wants to register another party. We know there is no longer any CCC because the party has disintegrated. We are waiting for the new party to come on board so that we destroy it again,\u201d Chihengere said.<\/p>\n

He applauded the defectors for joining Zanu PF saying the party including President Emmerson Mnangagwa recognised their decision.<\/p>\n

He, however, warned the defectors against coming to Zanu PF with ambitions to grab positions.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me, however, say you are better being open in joining Zanu PF than those who are already in the party yet we do not know how they came to be Zanu PF members,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Chamisa, addressing scores of villagers during his uncle, Chamunorwa\u2019s memorial service in Masvingo last month, said time was ripe for him to lead the country.<\/p>\n

He, however, said he was not ready to form a political party to challenge the ruling party.<\/p>\n

Chamisa quit the CCC claiming the party had been infiltrated after self-styled interim secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu went on a rampage recalling legislators elected under the opposition party ticket.<\/p>\n
