{"id":103053,"date":"2025-01-11T23:24:08","date_gmt":"2025-01-11T21:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/there-is-only-one-ccc-led-by-welshman-ncube"},"modified":"2025-01-18T16:25:00","modified_gmt":"2025-01-18T14:25:00","slug":"there-is-only-one-ccc-led-by-welshman-ncube","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/there-is-only-one-ccc-led-by-welshman-ncube","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;There Is Only One CCC, Led By Welshman Ncube&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>A faction of the Citizens\u2019 Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Welshman Ncube claims it is the legitimate party capable of making binding decisions.<\/p>\n<p>This assertion comes amid internal disputes with two other CCC factions: one led by Tshabangu, the \u201cinterim secretary-general,\u201d and another loyal to former party leader Nelson Chamisa, led by Jameson Timba, the \u201cChief Administrator.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Ncube-led faction purportedly suspended Tshabangu on Thursday, just hours after High Court judge Justice Neville Wamambo ruled that Tshabangu had no authority to make changes in Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling was based on Tshabangu\u2019s alleged violation of a previous High Court order (HH 652\/23), initially secured by Timba\u2019s faction, which barred Tshabangu from making recalls pending the resolution of cases HC 6872\/23 and HH 652\/23.<\/p>\n<p>Timba accused Ncube of exploiting his party\u2019s ongoing legal battles against Tshabangu, arguing that Ncube\u2019s reliance on cases initiated by his faction proved they were the only legal and legitimate authority for the CCC MPs and councillors.<\/p>\n<p>However, in an interview with NewsDay on Friday, Ncube\u2019s spokesperson Willias Madzimure dismissed Timba\u2019s claims, asserting that Ncube\u2019s faction is the bona fide CCC. Said Madzimure:<\/p>\n<p>The CCC has noted with concern a statement issued by Jameson Timba, in which he purported to be the interim party leader and chief administrator of the CCC party.<\/p>\n<p>We categorically dismiss and refute the claims made in that statement.
