{"id":103175,"date":"2025-01-16T11:56:03","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T09:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/20-year-old-man-sodomised-by-three-inmates-at-bulawayo-prison"},"modified":"2025-01-21T17:13:14","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T15:13:14","slug":"20-year-old-man-sodomised-by-three-inmates-at-bulawayo-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/20-year-old-man-sodomised-by-three-inmates-at-bulawayo-prison","title":{"rendered":"20-Year-Old Man Sodomised By Three Inmates At Bulawayo Prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Three inmates at Bulawayo Prison were arraigned before Regional Magistrate Joseph Mabeza on Tuesday, facing allegations of raping a fellow prisoner, reported ZimLive.<\/p>\n<p>The accused, Bhekimpilo Sinyoro (30), Thabo Ncube (24), and Arnold Chemhere (29), allegedly assaulted a 20-year-old inmate currently incarcerated at the facility.<\/p>\n<p>The victim reported to the police that he was sexually assaulted during a power outage around 9 PM on December 29 of last year.<\/p>\n<p>According to Prosecutor Dominic Moyo, the incident began when Sinyoro approached the victim, inviting him to sleep closer.<\/p>\n<p>When the victim declined, Sinyoro returned with Ncube, and together they forcibly dragged him to their sleeping area.<br \/>\nOnce there, the victim was made to lie on his side, and Chemhere allegedly covered his face with a blanket, pressing him down.<\/p>\n<p>When the victim resisted, Sinyoro reportedly unbuttoned his shirt, and with the assistance of Ncube and Chemhere, forcibly removed his shorts. Sinyoro then proceeded to sodomize the victim.<\/p>\n<p>After the assault, when the victim managed to free himself, the trio allegedly offered him rice and beans, possibly in an attempt to appease him.<\/p>\n<p>INcube has a prior conviction for malicious damage to property and is scheduled to complete his sentence on February 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Chemhere was previously convicted of unlawful entry in aggravating circumstances, while Sinyoro had recently completed a 30-day sentence for theft and was arrested while leaving prison.<\/p>\n<p>The three men were remanded in custody and are set to appear again on January 25 for their trial.
