Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Chinese national Liu Haikeng, arrested for shooting a Zimbabwean national in Gweru, has been remanded in custody until February 7, 2025.<\/p>\n

Liu appeared before the Gweru Magistrates Court on Wednesday facing three charges.<\/p>\n

According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), on January 21, 2025, Liu allegedly fired three shots at Kholwani Dube with a Canik 9\u00d718 pistol at Bijou Farm.<\/p>\n

He is also accused of unlawfully using explosives without a blasting license in 2024 and illegal gold prospecting at Bijou Farm without a permit.<\/p>\n

Reports suggest that the violent altercation between Liu and Dube arose from Ming Chang Sino-Africa Mining Investments\u2019 failure to pay Dube approximately US$600 in unpaid wages. Said the NPA:Latest<\/p>\n

Wang Jun, a Chinese National has been remanded in custody to 7 February 2025 by the Gweru Magistrates\u2019 Court facing 3 charges under the Firearms Act, Explosives Act and Mines and Minerals Act.<\/p>\n

On the 21st of January 2025 at Bijou Farm, the accused person allegedly intervened in a scuffle between farm manager Liu Haifeng and the complainant, Kholwani Dube, pressing Dube\u2019s head to the ground and pointing a firearm at him.<\/p>\n

In 2024, the accused person is alleged to have used explosives without a blasting licence at Bijou Farm and is also alleged to have excavated and blasted the ground at Bijou Farm without a Permit.<\/p>\n
