{"id":104923,"date":"2025-02-20T21:54:33","date_gmt":"2025-02-20T19:54:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/welshman-ncube-expels-tshabangu-from-ccc-over-misconduct"},"modified":"2025-02-21T00:55:59","modified_gmt":"2025-02-20T22:55:59","slug":"welshman-ncube-expels-tshabangu-from-ccc-over-misconduct","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/welshman-ncube-expels-tshabangu-from-ccc-over-misconduct","title":{"rendered":"Welshman Ncube Expels Tshabangu From CCC Over Misconduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has expelled self-styled interim secretary-general and senator Sengezo Tshabangu, who now faces a potential recall from the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Tshabangu appeared before the party\u2019s National Disciplinary Committee on February 12, 2025, where he was charged with four counts of misconduct relating to his actions between November and December 2024.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from CCC spokesperson Willias Madzimure issued on Wednesday, 19 February, the charges stemmed from Tshabangu\u2019s decision to unilaterally alter the party\u2019s Parliamentary Portfolio without the approval of the President or any other authorized organ of the party.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Tshabangu was accused of making derogatory public remarks about acting president Welshman Ncube after he had already been suspended from the party.<\/p>\n<p>Madzimure said Tshabangu\u2019s actions violated Clause 9.1.2.3 of the CCC Constitution, which outlines the party\u2019s rules and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>He further condemned Tshabangu\u2019s behaviour, stating that it had damaged the party\u2019s reputation and shown a \u201cbrazen defiance\u201d of the authority of Ncube, as well as other key party organs, including the National Standing Committee, National Executive Committee, and National Council.<\/p>\n<p>Tshabangu, who was represented by party legislator and lawyer Kucaca Phulu during the hearing, was found guilty on all four charges.
