{"id":107580,"date":"2025-04-30T10:19:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T08:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/zim-at-crossroads-pppz-president"},"modified":"2025-04-30T10:19:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T08:19:00","slug":"zim-at-crossroads-pppz-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/zim-at-crossroads-pppz-president","title":{"rendered":"Zim at Crossroads: PPPZ president"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>FLEDGING opposition People&#8217;s Progressive Party of Zimbabwe (PPPZ) has accused the ruling Zanu PF leadership of greed and putting State institutions on autopilot.<\/p>\n<p>In a Press statement on Monday this week, PPPZ leader Timothy Mapfumo Chiguvare said the country at a crossroads under the leadership of Zanu PF.<\/p>\n<p>He accused the Zanu PF leadership of looting State institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreediness of the Zanu PF leadership forced them to put all State institutions on autopilot while they were in a competition of looting and as a result they lost control of ministries, all State institutions are in shambles,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is massive corruption in the country and also Zanu PF has a propensity of committing atrocities, committing human rights abuses, tribalism and nepotism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chiguvare said his party was ready to bring change which other opposition parties in the country have failed to do.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are now ready to do what other political parties such as MDC, MDC Alliance, CCC and others have failed to do because of dirty money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are the PPPZ family, a political party of smart solutions, a movement that is tired of giving in, a unifying force, a reset button for Zimbabwe and a game-changer, we are called to respond to all human needs, not only in Zimbabwe but the world over,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Chiguvare said his party would resolve the crisis the country is facing urgently, adding that the ruling party was \u201credundant and could not be entrusted with the management of our nation\u2019s affairs or to lead the country\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>However, Zanu PF director of Information Farai Marapira dismissed the allegations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZanu PF is mass colossal party and is doing well in empowering every section of society. We have youth empowerment programmes and war veteran programmes among others and this is being done under President Emmerson Mnangagwa\u2019s government,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have people who are trying to seek relevance by throwing brickbats at Zanu PF and trying to soil the good image of the Zanu PF party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZanu PF under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa has made unprecedented moves to fight corruption and this should be commended.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>PPPZ was launched on December 26, 2008.<\/p>\n<p>The late intelligence maestro Dumiso Dabengwa and few others attended the launch at Methodist Church in Johannesburg and the party contested in the 2018 elections.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
