Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Struggling on the pitch but winning big off it, Dynamos Football Club have sealed a landmark kit sponsorship deal with Pakistan-based sportswear giant, Sport De Vitara – a move hailed as a major boost for the country’s most decorated football club.
\nThe agreement was signed at the Embassy of Pakistan in Harare just hours after Dynamos edged Yadah 1-0 on Thursday to record only their second win of the season. That narrow victory took their points tally to 14 from 16 games – a dismal campaign that has seen the once-mighty Glamour Boys teetering near the relegation zone.
\nDespite their poor form, the enduring power of the Dynamos brand shone through, culminating in a deal that will see Sport De Vitara supply the club with training kits, match-day gear, travel attire, and fan replicas. The partnership officially takes effect in January next year.
\nSport De Vitara, which also outfits Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak, has now added Zimbabwe’s most successful club to its growing African portfolio that includes outfits in Egypt and other countries.
\nThe deal is also a culmination of a promise made in 2023 by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Murad Baseer, who donated customised footballs and other equipment to Dynamos at the time.
\nSpeaking at the signing ceremony, Ambassador Baseer expressed delight in bringing the partnership to life.
\n“We have finally managed to bring a Pakistan company that specialises in manufacturing unique sports goods,” he said. “This is just the first step. Dynamos is a great club with a massive following, and this agreement brings joy to the entire institution.”
\nSport De Vitara chairman Asim Ijaz Malik was equally thrilled about the collaboration, crediting Baseer for initiating the engagement.
\n“I’m happy to be here. I am sure Dynamos fans and players will be excited too,” said Malik. “It’s a great honour for us to partner with such a historic club. Thanks to His Excellency Ambassador Baseer, we are now in Zimbabwe – a beautiful country – through Dynamos.”
\nThe deal was signed in the presence of Dynamos board chairperson Bernard Marriot Lusengo and the club’s full executive, including chairman Moses Maunganidze, who described the partnership as a key milestone in the club’s off-field transformation.
\n“As executive chairman, I am more than happy, especially on a day when we also celebrated a win on the field,” said Maunganidze. “We have set ourselves clear goals, and this partnership ticks a very important box. We are working to make Dynamos big again.”
\nHe added that replicas will soon be available to supporters, promising a new era of professionalism and commercial growth for the Harare giants.
\nThe partnership, beyond branding, is expected to help improve Dynamos’ image, player morale, and financial standing – offering a rare glimmer of optimism for fans in a season where victories have been few and far between.<\/p>\n
