Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>AFRO-SOUL artist Khwezi ZW, known for his deeply personal and introspective music, is set to release his latest track, Masibambaneni, on Friday.<\/p>\n

The track, part of a larger project titled Echoes of Silence, is supported by the British Council, the embassy of Switzerland and Kay Media Africa.<\/p>\n

He told NewsDay Life & Style that the song is rooted in storytelling and healing, and carries a powerful message:<\/p>\n

“Talking it through can help… depression can be snuffed out if we spread love and compassion more,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Khwezi said the song was a call to action to address social ills and to encourage open conversation around mental health and emotional well-being.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this project, I stick to what Khwezi ZW stands for \u2014 tackling real-life issues through honest storytelling,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

What makes this release even more special is Khwezi\u2019s collaboration with the Matopo High School Choir. Reflecting on this partnership, he shared, \u201cMatopo is a hub of musical talent. It is where I was groomed musically for six years. It felt like going back home and working with my family.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that his connection to the school ran deep. \u201cMy first vocal coach, Khanyisile Madonko, was a student there. Matopo shaped so much of who I am as an artiste,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Through Masibambaneni, Khwezi ZW said he continued to carve out a space in Zimbabwe\u2019s music scene that was raw, reflective and transformational \u2014 reminding listeners of the healing power of music and community.<\/p>\n
