Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The 115th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) kicked off in Harare today, with a record-breaking turnout of exhibitors and strong international participation.<\/p>\n

Organisers have confirmed that 505 exhibitors have taken up space at this year\u2019s showcase, up from 430 in 2024.<\/p>\n

The figure could rise further, with latecomers expected to push the tally close to 580.<\/p>\n

The surge has resulted in more than 79 500 square metres of the available 86 500 square metres of exhibition space being occupied, underlining the event\u2019s growing appeal as the country\u2019s premier agricultural and business platform.<\/p>\n

International representation has also strengthened, with twelve foreign exhibitors participating.<\/p>\n

Countries represented include Pakistan, Nigeria, Brazil, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, India, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia.<\/p>\n

ZAS Chief Executive Officer, Rufaro, Alfred Gunundu, told the media yesterday that preparations were complete and anticipation was high.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are expecting a good agricultural show this season. We are pleased with the number of exhibitors and the level of interest shown. The show remains a vital stage for showcasing Zimbabwe\u2019s agricultural achievements while fostering dialogue on opportunities and challenges within the sector,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Themed \u201cBuilding Bridges: Connecting Agriculture, Industry and Communities\u201d, the 2025 edition celebrates 130 years of ZAS\u2019s existence, making it a landmark event in the country\u2019s agricultural calendar.<\/p>\n

Participants range from top commercial farmers to community-based producers, with 1,636 entries for agri-produce competitions submitted by 112 farmers.<\/p>\n

Institutions such as the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), known for its diverse prison farm projects, were among those completing their displays late into Sunday night ahead of the opening.<\/p>\n

Today, ZAS hosts the annual business conference and exhibitors\u2019 cocktail, while Thursday hosts the media awards and an indaba on agricultural excellence.<\/p>\n

The official opening and prize-giving ceremony is scheduled for Friday at the Glamis Arena.<\/p>\n
