Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>A 41-year-old woman collapsed and died inside a betting shop in Bulawayo\u2019s Central Business District at around 11 AM on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, identified the deceased as Josephine Makiwa of Mpopoma suburb. Said Msebele:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe now deceased Josephine Makiwa, aged 41, of Mpopoma, entered into the betting house, sat on the chair, suddenly started vomiting and collapsed.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe became unconscious, and the punters who were inside the shop called an ambulance, which pronounced her dead upon arrival.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police said that investigations are underway to establish the cause of death. The body was taken to a local mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted.<\/p>\n

Inspector Msebele conveyed condolences to the deceased\u2019s family, adding that further details would be released once inquiries are complete.<\/p>\n

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old man took his own life in Dzivarasekwa Extension, Harare, after suffering heavy losses in the gambling game widely known as Kandege.<\/p>\n

Ashley Patrick Magarira is reported to have committed suicide after losing US$800, money that had been set aside for his brother\u2019s school fees, in the gambling game Aviator.<\/p>\n
