Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The body of Blessed \u201cBombshell\u201d Geza, the late outspoken war veteran and Zanu PF Central Committee member who caused a political stir by calling for the ouster of Emmerson Mnangagwa before dying in exile, passed through Beitbridge en route to his home for burial..<\/p>\n

Geza died at a hospital in South Africa on February 6 after suffering from a heart ailment for a long time.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, a hearse carrying his remains arrived at Beitbridge Border Post at around 6am, accompanied by a handful of relatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were here around 6am and proceeded to a local funeral parlour, where his remains were transferred to a local vehicle,\u201d said a police officer who declined to be named.<\/p>\n

His body was taken to Nyaradzo Funeral Services, where it was transferred into another vehicle that left immediately, another source said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis casket was brought through the reception and immediately placed into another car, which left just after 6am for Masvingo,\u201d said a worker at Nyaradzo Funeral Services.<\/p>\n

A flier detailing the movement of his remains, which went viral on social media, indicated that the body would pass through Masvingo, Mvuma, Gweru, Kwekwe, Kadoma, Chegutu, Norton and Harare before being taken to his home in Sanyati.<\/p>\n

That his body was handled by Nyaradzo is seen as a sign that the Government has nothing to do with his burial. All State-related burials are handled by Doves Funeral Services.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe call upon comrades, friends and all Zimbabweans to line the route in their numbers as we escort our hero home and celebrate a life defined by sacrifice, courage and commitment,\u201d read part of the flier.<\/p>\n

\u201cComrade Bombshell Geza will be laid to rest at his homestead in Sanyati,\u201d the flier read, adding that further updates on the arrangements would be provided.<\/p>\n

Geza had largely lived in the background before his outburst calling for an uprising against Mnangagwa during an internal fight within the ruling party.<\/p>\n
