{"id":116494,"date":"2026-04-18T18:48:39","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T16:48:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/afreximbank-picks-st-kitts-and-nevis-for-actif2026"},"modified":"2026-04-18T20:58:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T18:58:52","slug":"afreximbank-picks-st-kitts-and-nevis-for-actif2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/afreximbank-picks-st-kitts-and-nevis-for-actif2026","title":{"rendered":"Afreximbank picks St Kitts and Nevis for ACTIF2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has signed a hosting agreement with the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis for the fifth edition of the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2026).<\/p>\n<p>The agreement underscores a shared commitment to deepen Africa\u2013Caribbean partnerships and strengthen trade and economic ties between the two regions.<\/p>\n<p>ACTIF2026 will run from July 29 to 31 at the St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort, Casino &amp; Spa in Basseterre.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the signing, George Elombi, Afreximbank\u2019s president and chairperson of the board of directors, said the forum would bring together Africans and their Caribbean counterparts to address shared development challenges and pursue economic self-reliance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the fifth edition of ACTIF, we will once again reunite with our fellow Africans across the Atlantic to reflect on our shared development challenges and recommit to implementing strategic programmes that advance our collective aspiration for self-determination and self-reliance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Elombi added that ACTIF2026 would identify priority projects and programmes and focus on effective implementation to accelerate shared economic development.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Drew, said his country was honoured to host the forum, describing it as a key opportunity to strengthen economic ties between Africa and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not just a beautiful destination; we are a gateway for investment, a hub for enterprise, and a proud partner in the renaissance of Africans,\u201d Drew said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the forum would act as a catalyst for trade and investment, creating new opportunities for businesses and citizens across the regions.<\/p>\n<p>ACTIF2026 will feature panel discussions on regional trade, investment opportunities and initiatives aimed at strengthening Africa\u2013Caribbean economic cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>The forum is expected to bring together governments, investors, private sector leaders, development finance institutions, entrepreneurs and diaspora stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening economic ties across \u201cGlobal Africa\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Convened by Afreximbank, ACTIF has become a leading platform for mobilising capital, building partnerships and accelerating economic integration between Africa and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>ACTIF2025 resulted in five Caribbean deals worth US$291,25 million across three countries, covering trade and investment finance, corporate finance, project preparation and export development.<\/p>\n<p>Since opening its Barbados office two years ago, Afreximbank has approved more than US$700 million in financing across the CARICOM region, supporting climate adaptation in Saint Lucia, sports infrastructure and tourism development in Barbados, SME financing in Bahamas, tourism projects in Grenada, and oil and gas initiatives in Suriname.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Zimbabwe<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
