Two bogus military intelligence officers, who threatened Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries leader, Prophet Walter Magaya with unspecified action demanding US$40 000 have been charged with extortion and impersonation.<\/p>\n
Takesure Marisa (50) and Peters Zvabva (45) appeared before a Harare Magistrate, Vongai Muchuchutu this Thursday.<\/p>\n
It is the state\u2019s case that on the 2nd of this month, the two went to PHD ministries in Waterfalls, Harare where they pretended to be military intelligence officers handling unspecified Magaya cases before demanding US$40 000.<\/p>\n
The two allegedly threatened Magaya with unspecified action in the event that he did not pay the required amount, which prompted the PHD leader to pay R2 500 through the church\u2019s General Overseer, Admire Mango before a trap was set up leading to Marisa and Zvabva\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the trial of businessman, Shepard Tundiya, who is charged with defeating the course of justice through blocking in bribery case involving parliamentarians, has kicked off.<\/p>\n
Key witness, Bulawayo businessman, Mr James Goddard testified on the alleged US$400 000 bribery case, in which some parliamentarians allegedly demanded a bribe from Goddard to facilitate the awarding of a mining contract.<\/p>\n
Tundiya pleaded not guilty to influencing Goddard to withdraw the bribery case.<\/p>\n
Magistrate, Lazini Ncube rolled over the case to the 24 September after summoning another witness, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor, Dr John Mangudya in whose office the meeting allegedly took place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
