Norman Mapeza<\/a> is not bothered that he could fail to last long at his new club Chippa United and says he will leave his fate in \u201cGod\u2019s hands.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Zimbabwean gaffer who joined the ABSA Premiership side on a three-year contract was unveiled by club owner Siviwe Mpengesi on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Mapeza became Chippa\u2019s third coach in two weeks following the sacking of Clinton Larsen and Duran Francis who was in charge of the team for two games as a caretaker coach.<\/p>\n

Larsen had spent eight months at the helm, and his term ranks him as the club\u2019s second longest-serving coach. Dan Malesela holds the record of 14 months.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe two years\u201a the three years\u201a the five-year contracts and all that\u201a you know\u201a those things are just a number\u201a\u201d Mapeza told TimesLive.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever will happen in the next weeks or in the next two months or three months is not for me to judge because we don\u2019t know what the future holds for us.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will leave everything in God\u2019s hands. I\u2019m sure there is a reason why I am here today.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I was someone I could have just said\u201a \u2018No look\u201a this team is struggling and they always have coaches sacked after a short while\u2019\u201a then I could have just stayed in Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything that happens in life happens for a reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Should he see out his contract at Chippa\u201a Mapeza will become the longest-serving coach at the club.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, his first game in charge will be in the Telkom Knockout first round on the weekend of October 19 to 22 at home against Bloemfontein Celtic\u201a followed by an away league match to Highlands Park on October 26.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
