{"id":21800,"date":"2020-04-09T20:15:18","date_gmt":"2020-04-09T18:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=21800"},"modified":"2020-04-09T20:15:18","modified_gmt":"2020-04-09T18:15:18","slug":"huge-market-value-drop-for-warriors-players","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/huge-market-value-drop-for-warriors-players","title":{"rendered":"Huge market value drop for Warriors players"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The current suspension of football activities due to the coronavirus outbreak has caused an estimated \u20ac9 billion drop in market values across the globe, according to Transfermarkt, a German football statistics website.<\/p>\n<p>Zimbabwean players, especially those plying their trade in European leagues, have not been spared with the likes of Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba and Lyon striker \u2013 on loan at Le Havre \u2013 Tinotenda Kadewere among the national team players who have seen their market values significantly drop in the past month.<\/p>\n<p>Nakamba who joined Villa last year for \u20ac12m from Club Brugge is now priced at \u20ac8m and is the highest valued player in Zimbabwe at this moment.<\/p>\n<p>Kadewere\u2019s value plummeted to \u20ac6,5 m from \u20ac12m which Lyon paid for his signature in January while Warriors captain Knowledge Musona is now rated below the \u20ac1m mark.<\/p>\n<p>Musona\u2019s decline is hugely owed to the fact that he didn\u2019t feature in the Belgian top-flight league during the first half of the 2019\/20 season as he struggled for game time at Anderlecht.<\/p>\n<p>Marshall Munetsi, Teenage Hadebe, Macauley Bonne and Alec Mudimu have all dropped below the \u20ac1m mark.<\/p>\n<p>Defender Tendayi Darikwa also suffered a similar decline but this mainly due to his injury which has ruled him out of action since the eve of the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa-based Khama Billiat is now valued at \u20ac1,5m, dropping from the \u20ac2m price before the outbreak.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The current suspension of football activities due to the coronavirus outbreak has caused an estimated \u20ac9 billion drop in market values across the globe, according to Transfermarkt, a German football statistics website.
