MDC Alliance spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said the party had noted Justice Tawanda Chitapi of the Harare High Court\u2019s ruling on its application seeking to stop the MDC-T party from recalling more of its MPs from parliament.<\/p>\n

Speaking to reporters outside the courtroom soon after Justice Chitapi ruled that the MDC Alliance was not a juristic person capable of suing or being sued, Mahere asserted that the MDC Alliance was, and remains a political party. She said:<\/p>\n

Political parties aren\u2019t created in the courtroom.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n

Political parties are voluntary associations. We don\u2019t become a political party because the court said so; we become a political party because we are.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why we contested in 2018, that\u2019s why we fought the presidential election petition in 2018.<\/p>\n
