Legislators have been challenged to wisely utilise the Constituency Development Fund to drive sustainable development in their respective communities.<\/p>\n
Speaking after touring infrastructural projects under implementation in Buhera this Saturday the Zanu PF National Chairperson, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri called on legislators to make good use of the Constituency Development Fund allocated to them by spear-heading tangible and sustainable development projects in the communities they represent.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a symbol that demonstrates unity and party vision of development. This is a result of the Parliament\u2019s CDF and this guest house is for the whole constituency. This is what we expect from all our legislators.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri, who is also a member of the National Covid-19 Taskforce also took the opportunity to inform the Buhera community on the COVID-19 pandemic and urged rural communities to play their part in curbing the spread of the virus.<\/p>\n
She said the government is working on improving water availability and irrigation schemes in the district following the completion of the Marovanyati Dam.<\/p>\n
\u201cCovid-19 is real. We need to sanitise and make sure we protect ourselves from this pandemic. Symptoms of the Covid-19 are coming in different forms and it is difficult to address. As a government, we are working on improving the water situation and irrigation facilities throughout the country. Here in Buhera, we want to capacitate and develop irrigation schemes to address drought and hunger issues.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Dr Ellen Gwaradzimba commended the progress made in the implementation of infrastructure projects in the province.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe should all know that we want to modernise our infrastructure and drive smart cities. What it means is legislators should always engage their communities and come up with homegrown solutions that have an impact on their communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
Buhera district received over 9 million Zimbabwean dollars in devolution funds as the government continues to avail resources for development at the community level.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
