{"id":31024,"date":"2020-12-08T20:19:12","date_gmt":"2020-12-08T18:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=31024"},"modified":"2020-12-08T20:19:12","modified_gmt":"2020-12-08T18:19:12","slug":"huge-boost-for-cross-border-traders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/huge-boost-for-cross-border-traders","title":{"rendered":"Huge Boost For Cross Border Traders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Cross Border Traders Association (CBTA) president Killer Zivhu has said his association has struck a deal with Kei Laboratories for them to access COVID-19 tests at a concessionary rate.<\/p>\n<p>While other local laboratories charge up to US$60 for such a test, Kei Laboratories will charge US$15 for cross border traders.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the media in Harare on Monday, Zivhu said the majority of cross border traders could not afford the US$60 for PCR tests because they have not been operating for nine months. He said:<\/p>\n<p>\u2026 we have entered into an agreement with Kei Laboratories that they test every Cross Border Traders Association member at US$15 or R170 on going out of Zimbabwe, and US$10 on coming back. This comes as a boost to our members.<\/p>\n<p>Zivhu said the association was discouraging the setting up of laboratories at border posts, as people should only travel to the border when they know their status.<\/p>\n<p>He added that people must be tested at their places and only travel after knowing their status to avoid the risk of spreading the coronavirus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
