According to Beitbridge East legislator Albert Nguluvhe, the jumbos and their activities in the region are threatening the area\u2019s number harvest:<\/p>\n

To tell you the truth, it is going to affect the good harvests we were expecting this season. I think it is high time a permanent solution is found<\/p>\n

Why not push them back to the national game parks like Gonarazhou? These elephants don\u2019t add any value to the people in my constituency. No hunters or tourists come to watch them. Instead they have brought destruction and fear to the people.<\/p>\n

A district development committee said if the jumbos are not stopped they will totally wipe out residents and villager\u2019s crops:<\/p>\n

There are several areas where the presence of these animals has been reported. They will completely destroy crops.<\/p>\n

Beitbridge was expecting a bumper harvest due to the rains received this year. Meanwhile, in the Lesanth area villagers are complaining about lions that are killing their livestock.<\/p>\n
