No new foreign-born players will be available for the Warriors\u2019 AFCON qualifier against Congo in Harare next month, team manager Wellington Mpandare has said.<\/p>\n
In an interview with the Herald, Mpandare confirmed that they were likely to use the players who have featured for the team before as the likes of Macauley Bonne and Andy Rinimhota are still to get local passports despite repeated attempts to incorporate them into the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are a number of players the coach wanted to have, but as long as they are not committed to playing for their country there is nothing we can do,\u2019\u2019 said Mpandare.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor example, there is the issue of (Macaulay) Bonne, we have been trying to have him as part of the team, and there are papers he is supposed to submit, but he has not yet submitted.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen Darikwa, for example, said he wanted to play for the team, it did not take us long to process his papers, having a passport is not a big issue because it is not difficult to acquire the passport, it is about the player\u2019s commitment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Darikwa and Aleck Mudimu have already featured for the Warriors before.<\/p>\n
