He was formerly Senior Vice President of the American Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Tuesday, Olumide Orojimi, Head of Corporate Communications, said a closing ceremony was held to honour him.<\/p>\n<p>Orojimi noted that the NSE experienced significant growth under the former CEO. He cited the recent completion of the demutualisation of The Exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Onyema recalled he took over when the stock market was \u201cin the doldrums, investors\u2019 confidence low, mono product and the bourse under regulatory administration\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The finance and investment expert said the collaboration with stakeholders in the financial system and perseverance helped able to surmount the challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have come a long way from where we used to be and I am excited about the opportunities demutualisation has opened for us in the coming years,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Onyema reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) and its divisions deliver on the mandate to become Africa\u2019s leading capital market infrastructure provider.<\/p>\n<p>The subsidiaries are Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited, NGX Regulation (RegCo) Limited, and NGX Real Estate Limited.<\/p>\n<p>Onyema will become NGX Group CEO; Temi Popoola will assume the role of CEO, NGX Limited; Tinuade Awe will become the CEO, NGX RegCo Limited.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
