{"id":40272,"date":"2021-05-13T20:17:37","date_gmt":"2021-05-13T18:17:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/?p=40272"},"modified":"2021-05-13T18:14:52","modified_gmt":"2021-05-13T16:14:52","slug":"psl-ztn-seal-broadcasting-deal-for-2021-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/psl-ztn-seal-broadcasting-deal-for-2021-season","title":{"rendered":"PSL, ZTN Seal Broadcasting Deal For 2021 Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has sealed a broadcasting deal with local media company Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN) for the upcoming 2021 domestic league season.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will see the topflight matches streamed live on ZTN\u2019s social media pages and YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after signing the contract on Wednesday, PSL chairman Farai Jere said:<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re extremely proud to be establishing a partnership with one of the most exciting, innovative and dynamic media companies in Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n<p>ZTN has an outstanding track record of delivering top-quality programming. Our special relationship with ZTN began last year during the Castle Challenge Cup between Highlanders and FC Platinum at Barbourfields Stadium where we achieved a record viewing of 600 000 viewers across the board.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the PSL and Delta Corporation have renewed their sponsorship partnership for the next three seasons.<\/p>\n<p>The new deal was unveiled in Harare on Thursday. It is worth US$1 130 000 per season which will be split across three competitions.<\/p>\n<p>The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League will get $700 000 while the Chibuku Super Cup will be sponsored for $375 000.<\/p>\n<p>The Castle Challenge Cup which acts as the season opener between league winners and the Chibuku Super Cup champions is worth $55 000.<\/p>\n<p>The prize money, however, is payable in Zimbabwean dollars at the bank rate of that day.<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 campaign is expected to start on May 22 with the Chibuku Super Cup.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
