{"id":41758,"date":"2021-06-10T17:18:23","date_gmt":"2021-06-10T15:18:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/?p=41758"},"modified":"2021-06-10T16:14:40","modified_gmt":"2021-06-10T14:14:40","slug":"list-of-pledges-mnangagwa-made-in-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/list-of-pledges-mnangagwa-made-in-2018","title":{"rendered":"List Of Pledges Mnangagwa Made In 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>In the run-up to the 2018 elections, President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his ruling ZANU PF party made a number of pledges that gave the nation hope that they were to witness real transformation in the Southern African country.<\/p>\n<p>Mnangagwa\u2019s pledge card stated that in the next five years (2018 -2023), he would:<\/p>\n<p><b>KEEP THIS PLEDGE CARD AND MAKE SURE THAT WE KEEP OUR PROMISES<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Authorities claim that while they are still working towards achieving all the set targets, the government led by President Mnangagwa has already surpassed achievements made by the Robert Mugabe regime.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, some argue that the change that was witnessed since the rise of Mnangagwa to power in 2017 was in the negative direction.<\/p>\n<p>They cite the power crisis, starvation, fuel crisis and the shrinking of the democratic space as evidence that the nation is moving backwards.<\/p>\n<p>Mnangagwa who has embarked on a number of projects including the dualisation of the Beitbridge-Harare-Chirundu Highway, the mordenisation of the Beitbridge Border Post, admits that \u201cZimbabwe is not without its challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He is still optimistic saying \u201cmyself and this government are fully committed to improving our great nation for the benefit of all Zimbabweans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zimbabwe goes back to the polls in 2 years time and failure to or success in achieving the 2018 election promises will have far-reaching consequences to Mnangagwa.<\/p>\n<p><b>More: Pindula News<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
