{"id":43480,"date":"2021-07-14T18:44:44","date_gmt":"2021-07-14T16:44:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/?p=43480"},"modified":"2021-07-14T18:28:55","modified_gmt":"2021-07-14T16:28:55","slug":"just-in-mdcs-makomborero-haruzivishe-granted-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/just-in-mdcs-makomborero-haruzivishe-granted-bail","title":{"rendered":"JUST IN: MDC\u2019s Makomborero Haruzivishe Granted Bail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>MDC Alliance NEC member and pro-democracy campaigner Makomborero Haruzivishe has been granted a ZWL$10 000 bail by the High Court.<\/p>\n<p>He was being represented by the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) and his lawyer, Mr Ncube.<\/p>\n<p>Makomborero has been in prison since April serving a 14-month jail term after being convicted of inciting public violence after he had demonstrated with colleagues demanding the release of ZINASU president Takudzwa Ngadziore.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the release of the former students\u2019 union leader, Advocate Fadzayi Mahere a law lecturer at eh the University of Zimbabwe and MDC Alliance national spokesperson said:<\/p>\n<p>Best news I\u2019ve heard today. I\u2019m so happy @MakomboreroH is free but I\u2019m also disappointed that his liberty was unduly curtailed. Mako is innocent.
