{"id":4630,"date":"2019-02-26T18:40:07","date_gmt":"2019-02-26T18:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=4630"},"modified":"2019-02-26T18:40:07","modified_gmt":"2019-02-26T18:40:07","slug":"benyus-celtic-boss-set-to-leave-club","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/benyus-celtic-boss-set-to-leave-club","title":{"rendered":"Benyu\u2019s Celtic boss set to leave club"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kundai Benyu\u2019s Celtic coach Brendan Rodgers is expected to join Leicester City after reportedly holding talks with the Premier League club.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports in the UK, a deal to replace the sacked Claude Puel is believed to be close.<\/p>\n<p>Celtic have since confirmed in a statement that Leicester has approached regarding their coach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCeltic today confirmed that it has been approached by Leicester to speak to Brendan Rodgers with regards to their current managerial vacancy,\u201d the Scottish giants said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrendan has indicated to the club that this is an opportunity he wishes to investigate further and therefore, very reluctantly, the club has granted him permission to speak to Leicester.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brendan was the one who brought Benyu to Celtic in 2017 from Ipswich Town. The midfielder has made just one league start since his arrival \u2013 in a 2-0 win at Kilmarnock in August 2017.
