Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>By Mary Taruvinga<\/b> – HARARE businessman Rozva Dereck Mushinyi has again dragged his uncle to the High Court, and is claiming $1,3 million in damages for causing his arrest and detention over false accusations.<\/p>\n

Recently, Mushinyi also sued his father\u2019s brother, Ben $1 million on allegations the uncle had scolded him at a family meeting.<\/p>\n

In the latest court application, Mushinyi said after the death of his father, his uncle to take over his estate in contravention of the deceased\u2019s will.<\/p>\n

He said he was the executor of his father\u2019s estate.<\/p>\n

Mushinyi added after noticing that it was impossible to take over the estate, Ben tried to have him arrested by fabricating lies against him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this regard, Ben devised a strategy of making a false report to the police to the effect that I was putting my stepmother under house arrest and that I was assaulting her,\u201d he said in his court papers.<\/p>\n

Mushinyi alleged Ben filed a police report at Chinamhora Police Station leading to his arrest.<\/p>\n

After his arrested, Mushinyi claims he was detained and subjected to stressful interrogation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe police then concluded investigations after more than two weeks and found that the report was patently false and none of the allegations ever took place.<\/p>\n

He said he suffered mentally from the stress of being a suspect, and could not travel to Goromonzi pending finalisation of the case.<\/p>\n

Mushinyi also told the High Court that he lost business worth $600 000 due to his arrest.<\/p>\n

In addition, he suffered depression and ended up losing money on medication.<\/p>\n
