{"id":50875,"date":"2021-12-06T19:52:29","date_gmt":"2021-12-06T17:52:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/?p=50875"},"modified":"2021-12-06T19:29:57","modified_gmt":"2021-12-06T17:29:57","slug":"access-forex-launches-remittance-system-aimed-at-beating-festive-lockdowns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/access-forex-launches-remittance-system-aimed-at-beating-festive-lockdowns","title":{"rendered":"Access Forex Launches Remittance System Aimed At Beating Festive Lockdowns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span><b>By Leopold Munhende<\/b> &#8211; ZIMBABWEAN owned money transfer company, Access Forex, has launched a new USSD based system that is aimed at beating festive season lockdowns that might discourage travel between South Africa and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n<p>The system is in partnership with leading South African retail outlets such as PEP, Shoprite, Game, USave, House &amp; Home, Ackermans, Checkers, PicknPay, SPAR, Boxers and Makro.<\/p>\n<p>Launching the system Wednesday Access Forex head of sales and marketing Shingai Koti said they were looking at ensuring their clients send money back home without leaving their home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can register, select beneficiaries, and initiate the transaction all without leaving your home or place of work,\u201d said Koti.<\/p>\n<p>The new channel of distribution is being launched today in a bid to make remittance products and services available and affordable to a larger number of Zimbabweans living anywhere in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChristmas time is when many Zimbabweans living in South Africa go home to spend time with their loved ones, usually returning to South Africa just after New Years to resume work and fend for their families but following the detection of the Omicron variant, many are weighing their options.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>South Africa hosts hordes of Zimbabweans, most of whom might not risk travelling home for the holidays because of strict lockdowns in both countries.<\/p>\n<p>Government already announced all arrivals will be subjected to a two-week quarantine while stricter conditions are expected in anticipation of a 4th Covid 19 wave that health experts have warned about.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
