Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested over 12 600 motorists since the launch of the operation targeting unlicensed, unregistered, uninsured motor vehicles.<\/p>\n

Scores of vehicles were moving around without number plates amid a huge deficit in plates at the Central Vehicle Registry. Pindula News presents a police statement on the matter:<\/p>\n

The ZRP reports that on 22\/01\/22, 1 555 arrests were recorded throughout the country under the ongoing operation targeting unlicensed, uninsured, unregistered motor vehicles and non-complying PSV\u2019s. Cumulative arrests now stand at 12 664.<\/p>\n

The operation was launched at the backdrop of a surge in the number of crimes committed by assailants using unregistered vehicles.<\/p>\n
