Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>A 3-year-old infant died at Mphilo hospital in Bulawayo where she had been admitted when she started vomiting after eating pap and milk. The infant also had bruises and fresh cuts on her body.<\/p>\n

In a statement, seen by Pindula News, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) which is already seized with the matter, said the infant\u2019s stepmother confessed that she assaulted her with a cooking stick. We present the police report:<\/p>\n

Police in Bulawayo are investigating a murder case where an infant (3) died in the custody of a stepmother (27) after eating sadza and sour milk on 03\/02\/22. The victim started vomiting before being taken to hospital where she died on admission.<\/p>\n

Bruises and fresh cuts were observed on the victim\u2019s body and the suspect confessed that she assaulted her with a cooking stick and switches. Meanwhile, the body was conveyed to Mpilo Hospital for post-mortem.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old stepmother, Nothando Ndlovu, has since been arrested.<\/p>\n
