Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Piers Pigou, a Consultant for the International Crisis Group, and also a Consultant for Cabo Ligado, said Zimbabweans are hungry for change.<\/p>\n

He was commenting on pictures of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Sunday rally held at Mkoba, Gweru that were circulated on social media. He said:<\/p>\n

There is a hunger for change amongst these Zimbabweans. The country remains locked in a political trajectory, curated in the main by ZanuPF, that promotes a zero-sum approach to political power.<\/p>\n

The ruling ZANU PF is accused of collapsing a \u201conce vibrant\u201d economy through \u201ccorruption and poor policies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Authorities, however, blame sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe following the chaotic land reform programme at the turn of the millennium.<\/p>\n

All these comments come as Zimbabwe is gearing for the 26 March by-elections and 2023 elections with the opposition pledging to resolve the crises in the country.<\/p>\n

President Emmerson Mnangagwa\u2019s administration says it has made significant progress since taking over from the Robert Mugabe-led administration, therefore, they deserve to be given a new mandate.<\/p>\n
