Individuals who were not considered \u201cessential services\u201d were barred from getting into towns while intercity travelling was suspended for some time. In a statement, seen by Pindula News, police said:<\/p>\n<p>The ZRP reports that on 27\/03\/22, 1 646 people were arrested for violating COVID-19 related offences. The cumulative number of arrests since 30\/03\/20 stands at 1 613 796.<\/p>\n<p>Coronavirus cases in the country have been going down in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities continue to warn members of the public against complacency saying that will likely trigger another wave of the coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>The police also reported that 96 people were arrested on operation \u2018No to Machete Gangs\u2019, bringing the cumulative arrests to 13 752 since 1 January 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, 512 people were arrested on operation \u2018No to Cross Border Crimes\u2019 bringing the cumulative number of arrests since the 1st of January this year to 132 206.<\/p>\n<p>The police also reported that 203 arrests were made under the ongoing operation targeting unlicensed and unregistered motor vehicles, bringing the cumulative arrests to 45 101.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
