Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>President Mnangagwa this Friday handed over the Stoneridge Health Centre to the Harare South community.<\/p>\n

In his speech, he said the government will continue to implement comprehensive reforms in the health sector to ensure access and affordability of health care. He said:<\/p>\n

I am honoured to officiate at this ceremony marking the handing over of the state-of-the-art Stoneridge Health Centre as well as 40 ambulances and an assortment of medical equipment. Since the advent of the Second Republic, my Government is implementing comprehensive reforms within our country\u2019s health delivery system to enhance access to and affordability of health care.<\/p>\n

The construction of this clinic was made possible by the public private partnership between the Government of Zimbabwe and the Britain-based NMS Infrastructure LTD signed in 2019. I therefore direct the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works to speedily ensure that the Stoneridge community has access to quality services in line with my Government\u2019s development philosophy of leaving no one and no place behind.<\/p>\n

He was accompanied by Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care, Constantino Chiwenga and other government ministers and officials.<\/p>\n

The Stoneridge clinic is being run under an estimated $210 million investment by the Ministry of Health and Child Care, in collaboration with NMS Infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The first phase of the investment project will deliver four by 20-bed health centres, while phase two will deliver twenty-six by 20-bed health centres as well as five by 60-bed district hospitals.<\/p>\n
