Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The founder and editor of popular news website ZimLive.com, Mduduzi Mathuthu has handed himself to the police after having been summoned last week.<\/p>\n

Police\u2019s CID Law and Order Bulawayo requested to interview him on a yet to be ascertained matter, last Wednesday. Wrote the police:<\/p>\n

Reference is made to your letter dated 31 May 2022 addressed to us.<\/p>\n

This station is investigating a case where Mduduzi Mathuthu is a suspect and we want him for some interview.<\/p>\n

May you please treat this issue as a matter of urgency.<\/p>\n

Mathuthu \u2018s lawyers had written to the police for clarification after pressing charges of unlawful entry against some officers who intruded his Mahatshula home.<\/p>\n

He alleged that an off-duty police officer, Detective Sergeant Patrice Nyanhete \u2013 from CID Law & Order in Bulawayo \u2013 was positively identified after visiting Mathuthu\u2019s home in a suspected plot to abduct the journalist on Friday.<\/p>\n

The unwelcome visitors left instructions that the Mathuthu should present himself to Office 12 at the Law and Order section at Bulawayo Central Police Station and see Nyanhete.<\/p>\n

Mathuthu\u2019s lawyer Nqobani Sithole later went to the police station but was advised that Nyanhete was \u201coff duty\u201d. On further enquiry, Law and Order detectives present said Mathuthu was not a person of interest, according to the lawyer.<\/p>\n
