Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to announce measures to address the price rises in basic grocery items and services since the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n

Addressing the Seventh National Congress of the ZANU PF Women\u2019s League in Harare on Friday, Mnangagwa said he will announce the measures this Saturday. He said:<\/p>\n

My Government will tomorrow (today) be announcing concrete measures to tame inflation and unwarranted increases in prices and towards securing incomes and savings of our people, particularly women.<\/p>\n

We remain committed to ensuring sustainable delivery of social services such as water and sanitation, availing affordable and quality education, and improving access to green energy solutions, among others.<\/p>\n

The prices of basic goods and services, including fuel, transport, electricity, and school fees, among others, have been rising since the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n

Zimbabwe\u2019s annual rate of inflation last month was 131.7 per cent from the April rate of 96.4 per cent.<\/p>\n
